CSC's Smart Grids solutions : Applications of smart grids technologies
Broad concept of the smart grid is not confined on specific range but it is surpass the specific use to covers a broader concept a different applications within the city or the province down to the total area of the state, and these applications reflect the overall efficiency of the smart grid and the coverage comprehensiveness, Smart Grid applications include broader sense of:
-
Smart grid for distribution and Transmission companies: Electricity, water and gas
-
Smart grid for renewable energy: Solar and Wind Energy.
-
Smart Grid for Smart Cities: Smart Building, Smart Communication, Smart Network...etc.
The foundation of a smart grid is a communication infrastructure, and the role of this infrastructure is expanding to cover the entire power grid. Key applications for communication technology in CSC's SMARTgRID include enabling efficient operation of Smart Grid components, detection of faults in grid transformers, management of power peaks, monitoring of power consumption in businesses and homes, control of equipment that uses electric power, and communication between different pieces of equipment.

CSC's Utilities Device Data Management (DDM) for smart Grid:
Based on Oracle platform, CSC developed a Utilities Device Data Management software (SGSoft) to, gathers, processes, and stores all types of meter data to help utilities deal with rising data volumes and succeed in a changing industry. CSC Utilities Device Data Management (DDM) and CSC Automatic Data Management (ADM) includes standard functionality for aggregations, event subscriptions, usage subscriptions, bill determinants (supporting the push and pull methods), and smart Devices transition processes.
Smart Device Data Management (SDDM) offers utilities vast amounts of new data. With it, utility can improve operations and offer new customer programs, but to maximize the benefits, you must transform raw data into usable information. As a result, the solution can enable the fundamental utility goals of improved operational efficiency, network reliability, asset optimization, lower costs, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and continued business expansion opportunities.
