Data exchange between non open PLC meters and Patent PLC via integrated PLC Exchanger
SGS's D-EX 600 Genus Series are power-line communication analog front-end (AFE) PLC data Exchanger, is a state-of-the-art integrated circuit that delivers high integration and superb performance and it works to exchange and unification the different protocols in one protocol.
The D-EX 600 Series is the first PLC Exchanger specifically designed for Exchange OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) and S-FSK modulated signal transmission over power lines. Operating in the 10 kHz to 490 kHz band, the programmable filters allows compliance with CENELEC, FCC (SSC), and ARIB standards using the same device.
The D-EX 600 Series supports international standard of PLC Communication as G3,OFDM, S-FSK, and other Custom protocols and connections which can be established with the RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 communication interfaces with other non standard devices.
This Enable SGS’s Concentrator and Head End software to communicate over power line with these non-standard meters, The D-EX 600 Series are completely comply with CENELEC, FCC (SSC), and ARIB standards using the same device.
Exchanging data between different PLC Modules
The D-EX 600 Series exchanger provides two main paths: transmit (TX) path and receive (Rx) path. The transmit path of exchanged an G3, PIME or OFDM modulated signal into the AC or DC line. The transmit path is composed of a digital IIR filter, digital-to-analog converter (DAC), followed by a low-pass filter, and a pre-line driver. The receiver path is for the signal enhancement, filtering, and digitization of the received signal. The receiver is composed of a low-pass and a high-pass filter, a two-stage automatic gain control (AGC), and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The integrated AGC maximizes the dynamic range of the signal up to 60dB, while the low-pass filter removes any out-of-band noise, and selects the desired frequency band. The ADC converts the enhanced and amplified input signal to a digital format. An integrated offset cancellation loop minimizes the DC offset.
The D-EX 600 Series, along with the CSC’s PLC baseband concentrator, delivers the most cost-effective PLC's data communication solutions for non readable meters over power-line networks.
